From bottle to blanket, DA.AI’s story of compassion in action is now officially on display for guests to witness for themselves at Tzu Chi Center for Compassionate Relief in New York City. DA.AI Tech’s story begins with the spirit of great love as inspired by Dharma Master Cheng Yen, and it is this very same love that’s woven into each eco-product crafted by DA.AI. In fact, upon walking through the front door, it is Master Cheng Yen’s wisdom that draws one’s eye, inviting visitors to learn of her call to environmental awareness. On the right-hand side is another display outlining the innovative process designed for creating each distinct category of our eco-products.
Upon first entering DA.AI Technology’s display area, an image of Dharma Master Cheng Yen holding a plastic bottle — just like the ones we use in our products — reminds us to be aware of our impact on Mother Earth.
The diversity and effectiveness of our eco-products were made possible through a team effort united by genuine care.
DA.AI uses innovative methods to transform PET bottles into recycled PET chips, and from there to DA.AI Tech yarn, and finally, into a wide array of useful everyday items, like DA.AI’s fleece eco-blankets.
Situated among the energetic hum of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Tzu Chi Center for Compassionate Relief first opened its doors to the public on October 13, 2019, featuring a welcoming space for meditation, exhibits detailing Tzu Chi’s history, and retail areas for both the Jing Si Shop and DA.AI Technology’s eco-friendly products.
DA.AI Technology develops textiles from recycled raw materials, transforming these raw materials into useful eco-products, such as clothing, blankets, and more.
Tzu Chi’s efforts toward environmental protection began in 1990 when its founder, Dharma Master Cheng Yen, invited individuals to contribute their efforts to reduce waste and pollution. Since then, Tzu Chi volunteers have upheld this spirit of “Living in harmony with the Earth” through recycling activities and making sustainable lifestyle choices. Tzu Chi furthermore implements the concepts of “zero waste” and “recycle-to-recycle” through collaboration with DA.AI Technology, which produces eco-friendly products, such as blankets, garments, shoes, folders and other everyday items by using recycled PET bottles as raw materials. Tzu Chi distributes these eco-blankets crafted with love in every stitch during their relief missions, thus offering their comforting warmth as well as empowering environmental sustainability. Tzu Chi’s footprint of humanitarianism now spans 101 countries and territories globally.
